The Gunpowder Plot Society is made up of a loose-knit group of researchers who share a common interest in the events and people surrounding the Gunpowder Plot of 1605, an attempt by disgruntled Catholics to blow up King James I and the Houses of Parliament with gunpowder. Our members are constantly involved in a wide range of Society activities such as writing their own works on the subject, running the Society mailing list and maintaining this web site.

The aim of the Society is to provide a centralised point for as much information on the plot as we can find, and, via our mailing list and quarterly newsletters, discuss issues and points of view relating to one of the most fascinating events in history.

There are no requirements to join the Gunpowder Plot Society beyond an interest in this topic.  Just join our mailing list, and you will be connected to a world-wide network of other enthusiasts of this period of history.
